Hi Barbara, I am trying to get on the low dose chemo drugs, this time around, that is given with a non chemo drug called Avastin (Clinical Trial). Very promising as much less dosage of chemo is used. It helps keep bad cells and tumors at bay.
My 1st set of chemo (3 mos) was Aug. of 2002 after hysterectomy. My numbers went up again in 2005. Repeated chemo (3 Mos) with Taxoteer and Carboblatin after another mid line surgery. Now in Aug. 2007 PET/CT scan shows cells activity and numbers continue to go up. I like the idea on low dose chemo. I should hear next week if and when I can start with Avastin, Gemsar and Carboplatin. I feel great even better than most of my friends with all their aches and pains. Keeping a good attitude and strong belief that God knows all about this and will be and has been with me has been very helpful. I'm in the 20% of 5 year of beating it. Praising God every day for the smallest of things like the little humming bird that greets me when I sit by my back yard pond.
Warm regards,
Jan B.
