Isolated Liver Perfusion??

Hi, I am going to make this as short as possible. As we are on a very short time frame to make a decision.  A very dear friend of mine has colorectal cancer that has went to his liver. He has been on chemo, with great shrinkcage of the tumors. We just had a consultation in Pittsburgh, and they have suggested for him to have a procedure called "Isolated Liver Perfusion". This is a very invasive, complex and risky surgery. I am looking for anyone out there that has had this done, or someone that they may know that had this? Any advise or help you can give us would be so much help! Thank you for anything you can put our way!!

Good Morning! I just posted basically the same thing this morning. I am heading for the Isolated Liver Perfusion as my best option thus far. I am going to travel to another Cancer Center for a second opinion but so far I am being told this is the best way for me to go. I also have the questions you have as it is a very radical surgery, and very new. However, there is a doctor in Pittsburgh that has performed over 200 of these at the NIH (National Institute of Health) they have performed 37 IHP's at the University of Pittsburgh to date. Has your friend gone there for consultation?? You may want to read my article just posted by the "Cancer Cruncher" if you have any further questions that i am able to answer please let me know. How long has your friend had this cancer. You say you don't have much time left. Who is telling you this and why?? Your firend has exactly what i have so i am very curious and willing to help in any way i can. I look forward to hearing from you.
