This is a brand of Essiac tea, which was originally brought to the public view by a Canadian nurse, Renee Caisse (Essiac is her name spelled backwards). I've had great success in treating my cat. He did have surgery to remove two lobes of his liver, but since the surgery in Feb. 2004, I have not had him on any chemo or allopathic treatment. I've only given him the Essiac tea daily, along with a dose of SAM-e to support his liver. The last time I took him back to his oncologist, she was shocked to see that his remaining tumors had shrunk, and she said "Keep doing what you're doing, because it's working." There is a wealth of information on the web about Essiac to treat various types of cancer. The best site I have found is essiac-info.org. But, as a note of caution, some allopathic cancer drugs have known interactions with some of the herbs in Essiac. For example Avastin has a known interaction with Burdock root. I wouldn't expect your doctor to know about the interactions, as they are not usually well versed in homeopathic treatments. Here is a website that addresses some cases where Essiac should not be used: http://www.motherearthherbs.com/contraindications.html Best wishes, Michelle / / Hi I tried this motherearth board and it no longer exsits do you know where I can get info on interactions anywhere else? Thanks, Mary

Yes, Flora Essence Herbal Tea is a wonder tea. Keeping Hope Alive -The True Pioneers-The True Story
For Millennia the native people of North America have used the healing power of herbs to strengthen the body's defences. For example, the Ojibwa Indians prepared a tea from Indgenous herbs like sheep sorrel, burdock root, slippery elm, turkish rhubarb, water cress, red clover, kelp, and blessed thistle. However, it was due to the relentless and selfless efforts of the Canada's Rrene Caisse, RN, that the formula used traditionally by the Ojibwa was handed down and subsequently made affordable to the vast number of people who are still using it today worldwide. During the 1920's Rene Caisse, RN, was head nurse at the sisters of Providence Hospital Ontario Canada. She learned about the healing effects of the Ojibwa tea from a patient who showed remarkable signs of recovery from a serious illness. This revelation lead Rene Caisse, to devote herself for the next several decades to treat thousands of seriously ill patient with this herbal tonic achieving remarkable results. In 1958 Rene Caisse, meet Dr. Charles Brusch, of the the Brush Medical Center in Cambridge, Ma. Dr. Brusch, became her mentor and supporter when she was using the herbal tonic to treat patients at the center. Dr. Brusch, and Rene Caisse, were pioneers in the field and worked together as partners for 20 years to develop the herbal formula to what it is today.
During the 1980's Dr. Brusch, was interviewed several times by Elaine Alexander, a Radio Producer passionate supporter of the herbal formula. Elaine's numerous Radio Shows on alternative medicine elicited a enormous response from the audience over the years . Having upmost respect for her commitment to the herbal tonic, Dr. Brusch passed on the herbal formula to Elaine Alexander. The overwhelming response and endless request from the public lead Elaine Alexander to develop and market the herbal tonic under the name of Flora Essence. In partnership with the manufacturing firm, Flora. Today, Flora-Essence has become one of the worlds most widely used herbal tonics. This product can be purchased at any good health food store. I have been using it for about 1 month and I feel the difference in my mood swings and my healing. I have had radiation and my side effects were not as bad as most people. Good luck. Essiac Flor Essence is a valuable natural remedy for cancer that works in a gentle way to aid recovery from cancer. This herbal mixture is rich in salvestrols that are natural anticancer molecules. Each of the herbs is rich in different salvestrols for example burdock root contains salvestrol Q40 , red clover contains salvestrol T30 and wild rhubarb contains salvestrol S30 (resveratrol). This herbal tea contains all these salvestrols and each brew is equal to 100 points. The native american Obijwa medicine men knew their herbs and were the originators of the Essiac Flor Essence Remedy.

I use Essiac in my clinic I recommend it it just about everyone. I use Essiac as part of a total health protocol, in my experience one should never rely on a single alternative therapy but should combine many treatments.
