My husband is 57 yrs old.He diganosed feb 20,06 with EC.He went through radiation and chemo in april and May of 06.Then July 21st of 2006 Paul had sugery done.Paul had 42 days just in surgery intensive care unit.Well to make a long story short docs wasn't looking to hard for air leaks that my husand did have.I ended up getting power of attorney over my husband.64 day after this nightmare started my husband came home .After 2 and half weeks in rehab.my husband was in 4 stage of EC before the surgery was done He has mets but we was never told where. When this started it was the tumor in the lower third of his stomach and 1 lymp node. After the pathology report came back 6 infected lymp nodes.Since Paul has came home he refuses to have PET scans CAT scanshe wants nothing to do with any of it. He has the feeling that he has beat this awful demon and I hope that is true too.I just don't see much of a change in his eating habits. He still eats about like he did before surgery. He weighs about 145 now Before he was sick he weighed around 212. After his surgery and his return to home he weighed 108. Entering the hospital he weighed 141. I don't know whether he doesn't care to know his prognosis is still in denial or doesn't want to put me and his sons through anymore. Our sons are 23 and 30.They are my rock when it comes to their father and the hardships we face.

Thanks for Listening   Paul's wife and caregiver  Pam

hey, firstly I'm really sorry to hear what you have been/ are going through. (my mother only has suspected cancer and it's already hitting me hard)

i just wanted to say that i'm really glad you have people around you (your sons) to help you through it. being positive its probably the hardest thing yet one of the most important.

i hope he recovers fully or the best that anyone could hope he can. you're in my thoughts

xx
