Well, after a diagnosis at the beginning of June, Duffy my 10 1/2 year old Westie is saying goodbye.  He was diagnosed at the beginning of June of this year and we immediately did surgery, piroxicam, and metaxatrone.  Within a month of the surgery the cancer cells infected what was left of the bladder.  Within a week of learning the cancer was back he has gone into kidney failure.  We have decided to put him down tomorrow.  He wants to pass on his thanks for all the well wishes and good lucks and wants to say to keep up the fight to all those westies, scotties and other dogs who have this same thing.

Thanks to everyone here and good luck.

Hello,

I am so sorry for you baby. I know this is hard.

All thru my treatments for cervical cancer this year my black cat "Weaslerann" was by my side. She had a cancer tumor herself and I did not know until it was too late. She tried so hard to see me to the end of my treatments but her body became too weak. I know they are in a better place now.

God bless.

Cindy

Eric, I am so sorry to hear about Duffy.  We share this tough duty day in common with you, as we had to have our sweet scottie-boy Max put down today.

We were blessed to have him for almost a year and a half past the initial diagnosis.  He had good luck with Piroxicam, and happily chased his tennis balls and the squirrels in our backyard up until just a few days ago.  The incontinence was so very unpleasant, and yet also gave us some funny moments, because Max was a proper Scotsman and was NOT impressed with the whole diaper thing!

I add my best wishes to everyone here and the furkids they love.  Stay strong for your babies, keep fighting the good fight, and mostly - love 'em!!

I have a scottie-shaped hole in my heart tonight...CyndyB
