I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2005.  I had six weeks of radiation and chemotherapy followed by a rectal resection and chemotherapy.  In October of 2006 they found a tumor on my liver, and successfully did a liver resection followed by chemo.  May's CT was clear.  Yesterday's CT scan shows that the cancer has returned to the liver, and also in both lungs.  Surgery is not an option.  Chemotherapy is suggested, along with a second opinion...possible clinical trials.  I am looking for guidance and suggestions.

I was diagnosed with colon cancer with mets to the liver in July of '04.

The doctors in my city said I could die at any minute, but that I had 18 months tops.  I went to a top cancer hospital in the US.  You can find them here

I chose the University of Minnesota.

I signed up for a Stage II clinical trial.  I had my colon resected in August of '04.  I had my liver resected with an HAI implanted in Sept of '04.  I finished chemo in June of '05.  I've had no evidence of disease since.

I suggest you get another opinion.  Only 10% of patients seek a second opinion.  Of those 10%, 1/3 are given different options.  Seek out clinical trials.  Thus far, everyone on the clinical trial I am on is fairing well.

Good luck.
