Voice Loss

My father had his tenth radiation this morning.  Immediately after, he lost his voice.  I talked with him earlier this morning, before radiation, and his voice was fine.  Afterward, his friend called me to tell me his voice was gone.  He is writing things down.

My question is, can this happen so abruptly?  And should I expect it to remain this way throughout treatment?

Yes, this will happen.  It will probably last up to 3 weeks but it does come back - also quite suddenly.
