Mum has not been right for 4 years she had erethemanodosum (sorry spelling) in her leg and then she started to itch uncontrolably and and this has been going on for 4 years and they just said that she had nodular pruigo and sent her for light therapy and different creams but then last year she started to lose weight without trying and that just isn't my mum as she has suffered with her weight for nearly 18 years. and then in January it started to drop off her and they put it down to the fact my nan passed away.  Then we started to notice lumps in her neck and a quite large mass in her what we thought was her stomach. but the doctor just dismissed them all saying it was nothing and most likely to do with her size!!  then in April ( my mum is a care assistant) she went to stop a lady from falling and injured her chest ( as she put it she felt as though her chest had been ripped open) and the same dr said he didn't want to send her for a chest x-ray as it would only show that she had wear and tair...in the mean time she was coughing up blood and just not getting better. eventually on 18th June another dr sent mum for an x-0ray which she had on 25th June and the next day he phoned back to say that the x-ray came back with a very large abnbomality in the lymph gland so more tests were done...one being a CT scan which showed a massive growth in her chest which because it had grown so large had over spilled into the abdomen and that is the mass that we can feel and to cut it short after more tses they said that it was hodgkins and she also had the bone marrow biopsy and in the meantime she had a central line fitted and started her chemo and that was 3 weeks ago and then yesterday she had a call to say that it wasn't hodgkins but non-hodgkins  she should find out monday which sort but I feel so over whelmed by it all as I just don't know what the likely outcome will be .....can anyone help ?>? I have 5 children under 6 and this stress isn't helping Thanks in advance

I would contact the Cancer Center  of America.  Never been there but sounds like an outstanding place.  Good luck to you and your family. God bless and keep you in His peace.

My prayers are with you and your family for I truely believe faith is what gets you through this. I was 30 yrs old when diagnosed with Hodgkins stage 3...I did chemo and radation...I went to seven doctors, 3 chiropractors and after a year with them sending me away with pain pills...crying nightly and 2 trips to the ER...my sister is a nurse at a small Hospital...she told me to go....I asked ..can you not be my doctor but be my hero? As I was crying I told him I know there is something wrong inside me...& he just had to find out what it was. He did! Thank God! Long story short... the Doctors toldf me I would not be able to have children....I was so upset...I've always wanted to be a mom and depression hit hard...my husband to be told me to have faith and we would have children not to worry...he was right and his faith is what got us through this....! month after my radation was complete..I was pregnate we have a beautiful baby boy who is 3 months old now. What I can tell you is to keep track of what your mom is getting and know what the doctors are talking about...they make mistakes and don't know everything.....keep the faith & believe in the Lord.
