It is with a broken heart that I have to say my beautiful Mother lost her battle with PC yesterday, August 10 at 4:45pm. I had posted about a week ago...asking what  can I expect in her final stages. You were all so helpful, gracious and loving with your replies. I THANK YOU. All of the info provided ,helped me immensely! I was not worried when she stopped eating and drinking and I was not shocked by her "hallucinations" or shortness of breath. You helped prepare me for the worst day of my life. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for all of you. I am broken hearted, of coarse, but I find some comfort in knowing she no longer has cancer and is at peace. She is with God, and God is with me.

I will continue to pray for you all, God bless.

I am so sad for you upon the passing of your mother.  I know what it's like to lose your mom, although my mom did not die of cancer.  It is so hard, so achingly hard.  I just want you to know that I am thinking of you, knowing that the road ahead will be difficult.  Your last statement touched me, "She is with God, and God is with me."  Yes.  Be blessed.  Your memories will fill the empty spaces.

I am so sorry to hear, about your lost.  I could not hold back the tears when I read the begining of your message.  I lost my mother Feb 3 of this year and I was holding her hand, when she passed. She turned to me, opened her eyes, and took her last breath.  There is not a day that passes that the tears just don't come out of no where. My mother and your mother are in a better palce, where there is no pain.

Again my deepest sympathy to you and your family.  May your memories of the wonderful times you had with her warm your heart and keep a smile on your face.

I am so sorry for everything you are going thru.  I just lost my Mom on July 9th and I still wonder how I have managed to live without her.   I have learned to take everything at my own pace and I try to remember to do something or say something everyday that keeps her alive.   My children know how to pray to God, but they thank Nana for the beautiful sunsets...or I find myself 'telling' her my daily 'to-do' lists and, somehow- she still helps me get thru the day.  I don't think I'll ever get used to the lonliness of not having her here, physically, with me- but I have life because of her.  Don't forget all of the beautiful ways she made you who you are.  And finally- my favorite peice of advice (so far) is that tears are part of our journey for peace and calmness in our soul.  They will come day after day for as long as it is necessary for healing.

God will hold you close and I will pray for you, and everyone who hurts from this awful form of cancer-

Maria
