Cancers That Run In My Family

Subject: cancers that run in my family

my father passed away 1year ago from stomach cancer,and his father which is my grandfather he had bone marrow cancer and he lost his battle almost 6years ago,my moms mother my grandmother had cancer of the bladder and lost her bladder and had to were a colstomy bag,and her father my grandfather lost his battle back in 1986 of the same type of stomach cancer my dad had.and after seeing what my dad went thru and how bad he suffered i worry of getting the news one day "you have cancer "and i dont know if i would be able to handle that with that many people having cancer in my family what are my chances?                             michelle.

Hello,

Your family sounds familiar to mine!  You should go discuss your family history with a genetic counselor.  I did do that and it was very valuable.
