Hello. My name is Kerri and I was wondering if anyone here could give me some insight on adenocarcinoma. My mother had breast cancer about 6 years ago. She had a lumpectomy and radiation and seemed to be doing well. I live in MD ,my sister in VA and my mother in Ga. The last cpl weeks we noticed she seemed somewhat confused with us on the phone. We thought maybe she had had a mini stroke or something of that nature. After being unable to reach her for a few days my sister called the local hospital where she lives in GA. They said she was there but had been transferred to Atlanta. Due to HIPPA laws weve had a hard time getting info from the drs. They found 2 tumors in her brain.(which they were able to remove completely) They beleive that its metastic from either recurring breast cancer or lung. She was a very heavy smoker until about a month ago. She also had a cold a few months back that seemed to hang around forever so we beleive its most likely lung. My mom is only 54 years old. I want to go and be with her but my 5 year old is having open heart surgery on the 24th and my sister keeps saying shes going to wait until we speak to oncology to see what the plan is. Im so scared.. Nothing that I have read has been very encouraging especially since its gone to the brain. Between this and my son Im having a hard time keeping it together. I also have 2 other children. I feel so helpless. Has anyone experienced this with successful treatment? Is this definately terminal and if so, how long does she have? Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this and please say a prayer for my family. GOD bless.. kerri
