My brother in law has been told he has lymp. 4B.
What does the 4b mean?
Subject: Dad Had Hodgkins
Date: 02/14/2005
Dear Denise,
My dad is in remission now for about 10 months. He had Stage IIA. The letter A means no symptoms associated with the disease. The letter B means the patient has suffered symptoms of progressed Hodgkins, like fever, night sweats itching. My dad went through 4 months of chemo and 17 radiation treatments.
Hodgkins is very curable and even in late stages your brother in law has a good chance of recovery. Your brother in law has to fight this like a bull. He has to be strong and positive. Its not going to be an easy road and I'm not gonna lie, the chemo is tough, but tolerable. My dad went through his treatment and age 71. He felt alot of fatigue and quessyness in his stomach. He also lost his hair, the good thing is that it all grew back. But he got through it. My dad is feeling great and he has recovered nicely. He is very active and goes to the gym 3 days a week. and works and travels. If you want to help your brother in law out, you should give him positive pep talks. Educate yourself about hodgkins and know all about the side effects of chemo, so you can help your brother in law get through this. If you ever want to talk or have a question you may email me. Your brother in law is very lucky to have you and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
God Bless and lots of hugs and support.
