My friend has Prolymphocytic leukemia (PLL).

Has anyone had fludorabine instead of campath for treatment?

Any news on the use of stem cell (not bone marrow) transplant?

My husband was given fludarabine and you have to or should I say the doctors have to be very careful with the doses given. My husband is  now blind.

My husband was on a campath/pentastaitin combination and this worked really well for his t cell PLL (well tolerated) but still had to have a transplant..  Results show CR to PR in most patients for anything up to 48mnths (but average would be 6mth-12 estimate) its not a cure, will relapse without a transplant.  My husband did have fludaribine to reduce his WBC count before commentcing the combination therapy (as the pentastatin was not available to him at that time (had to be imported in from O/seas and time was crucial.  I believe that the campath/pentastatin combo is the latest tool for the Tcell PLL not sure about the B cell type as that tends to be less aggressive than the t type.  There is a hospital in the UK that has info on this therapy. (Royal Marsden Hospital you could try their website)
