Subject: time frame?

Hello, My father has stage 4 Pan Can, and is undergoing Gemzar/Tarceva since April. He has done fairly well, and the tumors were "stable" according to the CT. He is getting much much sicker and weaker and can not tolerate his chemo very well now, his Platelettes drop to dangerously low levels even after one treatment, where it used to happen after the 3rd, then the second, now one. He is taking a "3 week break", we are all afraid that he may be unable or unwilliing, or both, to continue treatment. If this is the case, God help us all, how much time can we expect to have with him, and what kind of course is typical? I want to keep praying for a miracle, but feel I need to be prepared and educated as well. Thank You.
