Laproscopic Surgery

Hey just diagnosed with prostate cancer Gleason 6 7.5 psa. I am looking for any feedback on laproscopic surgery. Anyone who has been to Dr. Krongrad in florida with feedback? Please let me know.

I had surgery performed by Dr. Krongrad on Nov. 12th 2004. I have to say that before the operation he was very professional and everything went the way it was spelled out on his website. He had some problems with my operation because of my weight (320 lbs) but everything came out OK. Because of my problems after surgery I had to wear a catheter for 3 months. I am fine now although I can't get an erection but I'm still working on that. Not much of a problem with leaking. My biggest fault with Dr. Krongrad is that he is not the good old boy he makes you think he is on his website and even talking on the phone or in person. After my operation I had to come back home and find a doctor to take care of my needs do to the complications. Dr. Krongrad did talk to my doctor a few times but all in all didn't want to be bothered with my post recovery. I guess if your operation isn't a standard one that you can go brag about on his website, he doesn't want anything to do with you. Good Luck in making your decision... Jim

 hi, replying to your message as to having lap surgery for prostate cancer. in oct 2005 i had hifu treatment in germany for prostate cancer. had about the same numbers you do. this treatment has been for me very successful.it would be worth a try. the treatment is quite uninvasive and have not had the side effects that go wiwth surgery.i was in germany for about a week and had two treatments with a probe placed in the prostate and heat applied. this is nearly painfree. and i can only recommend it fully.this treatment is being used in the us some but not sure where. try duke university medical researdh and see what you can find out.approved in canada as well
