I certainly would seek another opinion - please research the chemoebolization before you decide what to do.  There is a wonderful informative website - carcinoid.org or search for "Sunny" Susan Anderson - her website also has a wealth of information.

If it were my father I would see Dr. Woltering before making any further decisions.  My husband was also told by the Houston doctors that he was inoperable, but here were are about a year later and as far as we know at this time all cancer is removed.

Dr. Woltering's clinic is called the Neuroendocrine Clinic - they are located in the medical towers at Ochsner Medical Center-Kenner Louisiana.

His address is : (this also list all the doctors and staff is his office.  If you call talk with Pam Ryan and she can answer all of your questions about and appointment and what to bring with you.  Please let me know if I can be of any further help.  We are leaving today as a matter of fact for tests and a followup appt tomorrow with Dr. Boudreaux.  Best of Luck to you both!!  God Bless

My father wanted me to ask you if Dr. Woltering used any other forms of therapy for your carcinoid tumors.  He also wanted to know if you had several small tumors in addition to the large one in your liver.  I guess they have told my father that he has about 20 pea size ones throughtout as well as the large one.

I've been thinking about you both and praying that everything came back clean.  Please keep me posted.

Hello All :  My brother has been diagnosed with A carcinoid tumor in Jan 08  He has been strugling for 1.5 yrs with severe diarrhea . 47 yrs. old.5'6 was 195lbs " and lost 65 lbs and keeps losing weight, he has not rcvd. any advice on nutrition !   Everything he eats passes right through him he only gets about 3-4 hrs of sleep and is going  up to 15 times a day.  Does any one have advice for foods that will be easy on him and foods/recipes that will fight and help restore his strength ?  His situation is similiar to Keith's  at this point he has the one big tumor and many pea size in his liver . He was told  3 weeks ago he may have a year left to live , and was basicaly inoperable, and if they were to operate the consequences were 6 weeks of recovery and possibilities of what could go wrong were numerous.  Any type of help advice on this and nutrition foods that worked for you building strength would be greatly appreciated.  I lost my other brother( 45yrs old) 1yr ago to the same thing,he did not know what he had until too late .. I will be going to clinical  Nov3rd in Bethesda, Md.  W Dr. wank  Thank you in advance Jeff
