Had my TT 8/29 and haven't heard about the biopsy as of today, but the pain in swallowing ,feels like I got a couple of golf balls in there, (one in my throat and one in my chest) (coughing and sneezing are nightmares....don't dare laugh either)

Last night was the worst for the burning in my chest.  I am on meds for gerd, I was wandering is the endotracheal intubation is the reason for such discomfront along with the gerd. Last night I took an extra prevacid a pain pill and a xanax, that's how bad I felt.

I have a lump on the incision and had called the surgeons nurse this past Tuesday complaining of the trouble swallowing and the lump...she said I must of had some sort of leaking and it will absorb into my body taking about a month. I don't have my follow-up for another 2 wks. The burning only started after I talked with her.

Seen my Hemotolgist yesterday(I have a clotting disorder and am on life time blood thinners...) the burning scares me because if there is erosion then there bleeding and then I'm in trouble.  I see my cardiologist on Friday and Endro Dr. on next Tuseday...I don't who to tell what to.

If I just avoid the foods and drink that cause acid reflux, do you think that'll do the trick in releaving my pains?

milk soaked toast sounds good.

I had two surgeries 6 weeks apart.  I could barely speak after the first one.  My throat hurt so bad that swallowing hurt so bad......sneezing and coughing was the worst.  This is gross.....I spit up large clumps of blood and congestion for over two weeks.  I actually ran fever for two days.  I did have a lump in the incision.  I contacted the doctor and they act like you are crazy but they schedule an appointment to see me.  By the time I was to go in and see the doctor, everything went away so I cancelled.  I had none of these symptoms after the second surgery.

I have been suffering with reflux ever since I started the synthroid.  The pill bottle says to take on an empty stomach but every time I do, I end up with reflux all day long.  If I take it with breakfast (which you shouldn't), I don't get the reflux.  I spoke with the pharmacist about taking it with food and he said that the medication is not absorbed properly when taken with food.  He said that he has heard from others who have this same reaction with the synthroid.  He also told me that an empty stomach consist of one hour before a meal or two hours after so I tried taking it two hours after breakfast.  That seems to have been much better.  If you are taking other meds, then you may want to inquire if the combination of medications are causing the reflux.

I doubled up on my prevacid these last two days hoping to get rid of are this.  I am taking Cytemol in the morning, at 5pm I do my norvasc, coumadin, lexapro, baby asprin, prevacid and the worlds biggest 2 calcium pills made for man.

I am adding the extra prevacid to the AM.

Tell the doctors later. Don't think they'll mind.

Still waiting for the results from the pathologist.

Thanks for the reply and hope you are getting ready for the early show of fall foliage.

Rosie, Tcc gave you good advice.  I also take Synthroid, but my difficulty was fatigue, believe it or not.  When I was still teaching, it was a terrible way to start the day, tired.  I told my doctor and he said to take the Synthroid one hour BEFORE taking my other meds (I take a total of eight pills in the morning).  This absolutely did the trick.

So, upon rising in the morning, I take Synthroid.  An hour later I take all my other morning meds, and this has worked like a charm for me.

I hope it helps you, even though your difficulty is different from what mine was.

WOW i read all about these symptoms and i have never heard of it before.  then again i have never found a site like this until recently.

I am on levoxyl and have been for going on 6 years and have never had any of these symptoms.  the only time i have had ANY was when i was pregnant and they raised my dose too much and that was 3 days into it.

i am tired all the time but i chalk that up to my husband waking me at 2 am every morning when hes coming to bed and then immediately snoring so i have to get myself up and go in the guestroom or i will be a zombie.

I hope you all figure this out and that things straighten out.  good luck and hugs to all
