Hi LIAMC,

I have had an enlarged lymph node below my right ear or over a year now. It is not painful at all, but has gotten a litte bigger. I have been extremely fatigued, chest pain (feels like pressure), used to have night sweats where I would wake up and have to put a towel down, so I could go back to sleep. I just had a chest xray done and blood work. I am so sick and tired of feeling tired all the time with no energy at all. I could sleep all day. I had not had any unexplained fevers. My doctor checked the rest of my neck for other enlarged lymph nodes and he didn't find anything. I also have Celiac Disease and we have a 3 times higher chance of getting NHL.

As for your lymph node had you had an infection (throat, tonsils, etc) about 9 months to 12 months ago? Is your lymph node sore to touch? Many people have enlarged lymph nodes that may not go down after an infection. Just watch the lymph node and make sure it doesn't grow in size and if it does go back to the doctor and let them know.

HI,

I certainly don't want to suggest that there is something to worry about but I would suggest you have it checked out again.  I found a small lump (not painful at all) on the left side of my neck Aug/06 and went to the doctor.  They too told me I probably had mono or an infection and I would be fine.  After two antibiotics and an ultrasound I finally insisted on a specialist.  Saw a specialist in Nov and had a needle biopsy, then a surgical biopsy.  I was then diagnosed with Lrg B Cell NHL and treatment was started Dec/06. At this time of treatment my lump had progressed in size and I had three now and couldn't turn my head at all.

I am not at all trying to worry you and you may be just fine but you know your body and the sooner you rule out the possibility that it could be something else the better you will feel.  Also, I didn't think I had any symptoms either but later realized my night sweats, skin itchiness (like hives) and lack of apetite were in fact actual symptoms of my desease.  Anyways, all the best.
