My sister had breast cancer 4 yrs ago and again, a new breast ca, 1 yr ago. She recently had a PET scan of which the finding state: Hypermetabolic mediastinal adenopathy presenting in upper anterio9r mediastinum extending inferiorly in rt. pretracheal space to subcarina. Largest aggregate approx. 47 mm in anterior mediastinum, SUV 11.2 reflects metabolically aggressive tumor. There is also PET tumor margination of rt. pleura with large rt. pleural effusion. Hypermetabolic rt. retrocrural node in lower rt. hemithoras. Additionally, there are several hypermetabolic tissue deposits in the rt. anterior chest, most conspicuous approx. 19 mm immeriately anterior to mid sternum. Hypermetabolic 26 mm rt. hepatic subcapsular metastasis. Physiologic bowel activity, sonewhat prominent in rt. colon. Hypermetabolic lt. anterior iliac bone metastasis.
