Chemo And Wht To Expect

any one out there had  carboplatiane chemo would like to tlk to u  , i am about to go  and have my 3rd session i have noticed my hair  thinning out  has any one out there  had  carboplatine  chemo  and   wht  was the  sides effects   did  u  loose all ur   hair   and  if  it  was  just thinnning  out   when  did it  stop   was  it  after all ur  treatment s and  how  long  before  it  stopped  falling out  when ur  treatments  were over thnaks

Hi freeatlast, I wish I could remember what they called mine, it was c..plat something and toxal and a shot for my bone marrow.  But my hair was falling out after two weeks.  I had it cut to maybe an inch cause I couldn't stand it, and I'll be damned if I could of kept some of it.  I guess go with what is good for you.  My hair started growing back, I guess maybe three weeks after chemo stop. Now its prolly.....inch to inch 1/2 long and really thick, different color though. I haven't had chemo since end of May. I have to tell you Hair is Highly over rated ;-) Now that I have it Everywhere! Good luck and prayers to you.

thanks  so  much , i thought  the  nurse told me  mine  was  just called  carboplatiane   and  the  doc  did  say it would  thin out  tomarrow  will  be  my third treatment  i  did  get like  2  inches  cut off th bottom my hair is  a little bellow my  shoulders  but  im  just so  worried i will  lose it all  am  scared  about that like  any  woman  would be,  i go every there weeks   also the  doctors  said mine is a low dose  .i no i been  looking  around to  buy some kind  of  shampoo  that  helps your hair grow faster lol i no  sounds  silly  but  i guess its just me  if  you no any  pass the word along ok   thanks

I would think it would of fallen out by now so to me sounds like what you have  you may get to keep. Who knows. I have to say that my hair has grown so fast (everywhere) that it looks like I shower with miracle grow. I had sooooo much fine hair on my face I had to have it waxed( don't want to do that again) but I feel better about it now.

thanks  so  much  for  getting bk to me  i keep saying  im   almost half way there , i will be  soon,  as  soon as   tomarrow  gets here  .   i will be seeing my  doctor   first   then i  will  do my  3rd treatment of  chemo  im  trying  to have  a positive attitude but  some times its  hard  . i no i will be  sick  for  a few  days   but  then i will  be fine  for  a  couple  of  weeks  ,untill my  next  treatment  im   going in there  tomarrow   saying  i  will be  fine  and  i wont  get  sick   i guess   i have to  do  this  so i  can  get threw this  only  4 more  to go

I am very blessed with so much support and love around me, but sometimes You Just get so tired of it all. I must say from this side now its all worth it. yes  it  was  hard to go bk yesdterday but  i  keep  saying im   half  way there   and it s  hard  caasue  i feel  so  good  for for a few  days  then i no im  going to grt  sick or  should i  say i thought i was. i had  my third  session yesterday all went  good   i walked out  of there  all  good, last night i started to have some  bk achs  and  leg pains but i took  somthing  right off used a heating pad took  some meds  so i wouldnt get  sick  to my  stomach  just in  case. here its almost  noon  and  im up and  walking not  like the last  ones  i couldnt  walk . docor  says  my  bllod  level is at 6 % now  which is  excellent  . so the   chemo is  working  i  only have  3  more to do he says  i look  goood  and  every thing looked good im  trying to keep up  the  good spirits , this is  just  a  short part of  my life  a battle i will get threw . we all  will i keep saying  hes  up there  testing us .i think he wants  to  see how  strong  we all reall  i think maybe  he has  found out  as  we all  are going to beat this.well goood luck

Stay strong and hang in there. I just had my two month check and all is well.  I still have chemo brain and tingles but he said that may last awhile.  I hate the fact that I get so overwhelmed so easy.  I was never like that before.....Oh well, I am alive and I have my strength back and feeling really well so I am blessed and I will learn to deal with what I am now.  Glad to hear from you and Know we are all in this together and our prayers are answered maybe not as fast as we would like. God's Will not our.........I say it so very much all the time. Prayers to you all

hello. well here it is saturday  i feel  very good  had my third treatment of  chemo last tuesday  i have noticed  when i comb out my hair it is  falling out a bit  some people cant  tell but i can . ... i was all good that day  and  the next  day up till friday  then i started feeling a bit  weak on my feet, i did  get sick but a  minimun not  much at all   they have reduced my dosage to 540 mg . i was  wondering   if u new if it  will contiune  to thin  out  more and more  while im having  my treatments, and  how soon after i have my treatment s  when they are  done  will it  stop,  i did  ask her  tuesday  wht  kind  im haveing  and  she said  strickly carboplatine  thanks for any help  im  scared

Morning, you know I am not sure.  I know it can grow during treatment but not sure if you'll lose any more. Mine was a combined cocktail. Hang in there, someone will see your message and hopefully answer.

Remember get lots of rest and never do to much, it could set you back a bit. Keep the Faith
