My husband was diagnosed in 1/97 with Pancreatic cancer.
Could not do whipple - it spread to the liver and attached to the aorta
artery. They did a gastro bi-pass to releave some pain - he started
with Gemzar and is now on 5 FU - his hip replacement surgery of 1/96 has
now been aggrivated by his extreme loss of weight so the hip has popped
out twice in three weeks - now the orthopedic surgeon wants to do a new
hip replacement - the oncologist says he must stop chemo since he needs
his strength for the surgery - how might the surgery effect the cancer
and what about the anesthesia
