Post-Op Reoccurrence Prevention

Subject: post-op reoccurrence prevention
Date: 09/14/2007
Outline: Uncle, 80, Cowboy (no kidding, cowboy), breast cancer, successful removal with no apparent met. on 11Sep07. This may be in the old news category, but I started to explain it, and got stuck with less-than-complete info--my bad--timing is so important in life. So I hope someone here can give me enough of the correct terminology to search out the whole story and remove the concern from my family. Several (3-12) years ago a report re: inprovements in C-treatment explained a post-resection reaction in which the removal actually triggered the growth of one or more tumors (lesions?--I don't rem. the variety of C) which had not previously shown up, and that this Had greatly limited the long-term outlook for C patients. However, the section went on to explain, a treatment (Chemo, rad--I can't recall) had been discovered that neutralized this action, and therefore made post-op expectations far better. Thanks for any help--FWIW, so for, so good.
