I've read so much about NSCLC since my husband was diagnosed almost two years ago. I have a good science background and have to say I'm almost positive cancer begins as a virus.

I conclude that: the poisoness RNA protein deposited into a cell by a virus is absorbed by the cell. This protein is metabolized as a normal food.  During cell division, which includes DNA replication, some of the genes on the DNA molecule, become "turned off" or we could say become "damaged", because the cell replicated them from the abnormal protein food deposited by the virus. During the process of cell division the new cell passes on the damaged DNA. The poisoness RNA, did it's job. Now in the skeem of things, these deranged cells cannot be recognized by the the immune system. Because the poisoness RNA stimulates the cell into a faster than normal cell division, tumors grow. The body is in a real bind now because it can't squash the tumors due to the fact it can't recognize them.

Some virus, when they make their way into a cell, cause the cell to explode, spreading the virus throughout the body. When this happens, the white cells are alerted and clean up the mess, controlling the infection.

Other virus are very crafty. These are the ones that can actually alter the DNA, keeping the bodies defenses useless.

The very first tumor is the key to the cure. These cells contain the original DNA error and most probably traces of the original RNA virus. Doctors need to isolate this virus and make a vaccine.

I would welcome any comments from.

you are correct that viruses cause some cancers.  The main viruses associated with human cancers are HPV, hepB , hepC, Epstein-Barr, and  human T-lymphotropic virus.  Experimental data imply a causative role for viruses and they appear to be the second most important risk factor for cancer development in humans, exceeded only by tobacco usage.  The first vaccine for cancer came out last year when Gardasil  was released for cervical cancer, caused by HPV.

Does anyone know if there has been research done on a virus that possibly grows on tobacco leaves?  Maybe this is the reason some people smoke and don't get cancer, but others do.

Can't offer any additional info but interested to read your theory as fits with why chemotherapy killed off almost all my partners cancer but left a small hard core in the primary site that where resistant.  He also suffered some years ago with encephalitis - did the virus creep in then or was his immune system so knocked that cancer could start?  My mind also gets very busy trying to build the jigsaw.  Just one other thing I have observed that might be a sign of cancer but is not acknowledged.  My father had cancer and noticed his fingernails growing fast.  My partner had extremely short nails always but these are now growing quickly. Thanks for your comments. My husband had a very bad cold two months before being diagnosed. The doctor treated him with antibiotics, probably thinking it was a bacterical infection. My hunch is that this cold was a virus and the antibiotics made things worse, plus the fact that he didn't finish the medication because it made his stomach upset.
