My dad is fighting his second round of gist, he just had surgery and was in the hosp for about a month now that his home he has lost 30 pounds and because tumor was 14cm and sitting on his esophagous they took 90%.  He has a gallbladder drain, his wound vac and another drain.  He can't eat and the nausea is outrageous. He is giving up and it just kills me to see him this way.  The gleevec was restarted and Coumadin was added due to a blood clot in the hospital.  He is so depressed and ready to give up.  I will take any suggestions or help in regard to taking meds, how, when and with what.  I don't know if his swallowing problems are pressure from the remaining tumor portion.  He was initially diagnosed in 2004 and took Gleevec up until last Sept.  CT showed no tumor so it was stopped. in six months tumor was there.  I need advice and support.
