My husband was diagnosed with appendix cancer (Goblet Cell Carcinoid) which is a rare cancer 3 years ago. After many tries with conventional therapies, we are now considering alternative medicine. Has any one with this kind of cancer have a success story to share with us? Either with alternative medicine or may be with a chemotherapy that we might not have tried yet? So far doctors have treated my husband with all the colo-rectal chemotherapy that is available which has somewhat stablized the disease that is in his peritoneum, however the disease is progressing and there are no other therapies available.

We appreciate any one with any info.

My wife (C.U.P.-Syndrome-Stage 2, most evidence indicating cancer of the appendix) has been undergoing an alternative therapy at an oncological practice in northern Germany since early April. The doctors at the clinic where surgery was performed (appendix, fallopian tubes/ovaries, several lymph nodes, sections of the peritoneum removed) in March released my wife with the statement: "We cannot do anything for you. Take care of your personal affairs as we give you from 3-6 months..." We were left to our own devices and had to find many answers with no time to spare.

My wifes´ current therapy consists of:

1.) Local electrohyperthermal treatment 3 times weekly (1 hour sessions)

2.) Monthly primed Dendritic Cell vaccinations (per injection)

3.) Monthly injection of ND (Newcastle Disease) virus.

4.) Supplemented by intake of Xeloda

5.) Infusion of clinical Vitamin C+ supplements 1-2 weekly.

6.) Approx. 3000mg Curcuma Longa (Tumeric) in tablet form daily

7.) Practices Chilel-Qigong approx. 1 1/2 hours daily

Since commencement of therapy, my wifes´ tumor marker values have diminished considerably, as has her ascites. Her energy levels are high.

It may be well worth your while contacting a reknown German oncologist and biologist, Dr. Thomas Nesselhut. His tumor clinic is located in Duderstadt, Germany. As many of his patients are from the U.S. and the U.K., the clinics´ staff speak English fluently. See the following website:

http://www.dendritic.info/DCTreatmentCenters.html

Dr. Nesselhut and his associates have been of great help to us.

Hope that this information is of help to you and your husband.

My wife and I wish you the very best.

Thank you so much for the great info. The doctor we saw here in New York had also mentioned these various treatments, but we were not sure if we should go that route without researching first and your e-mail is very reassuring.

Our best wishes and prayers to your wife and you.

I am so happy to find you.  My father has Goblet Cell Carnoid and have yet to find another person that actually has the same cancer.  We too have done the conventional colon cancer treatments but aren't having much success.  I would certainly like to speak with you to share what you have done and what we have done and see if we can explore other options.  You can reach me at

Hello Tracy,

I am sorry to hear about your dad. As you know it is a very rare cancer.

We have tried all colon cancer chemo and now are seeking alternative therapy. Depending on the stage of your dad's cancer, you may want to research further debulking and intraperitoneal heated chemotherapy. The pioneer of this procedure is Dr. Sugarbaker in Washington DC. Although it is a risky and long surgery, it might be an option. We have gone to an alternative medicine doctor in New York and as a matter of fact we are starting treatment with him this week. I might not be able to contact you this week (a hectic schedule) but I will surely try to either call you or e-mail you next week. The treatment with the MD in NY (Dr. Raymond Chang) consists of a cocktail of different therapies that may or maynot be approved here in USA. I will let you know how it goes!

My prayers are with you. Speak to you soon!

Hello Tracy,

As you can see your e-mail and phone numbers have been deleted from your message. My husband started the alternative medicine therapy which consists of Lentinan shots which is a medicinal mushroom therapy and also Dendritic cell therapy. He has just started, so we probably wont see any results for at least a couple of months. As I told you before we are working with Dr.. Raymond Chang in New York city for these therapies. The onconlogist basically told us there is not much more he can offer us as far as conventional therapies. I hope your dad gets better results with chemo. My prayers are with you.

Kathrin
