Subject: Stomach Removal The Only Way?

Hello,

My wife has stomach cancer. The doctors are not using any radiation or suggesting any surgery. It seems that these two components are a major of other peoples recovery. Anyone with success with just chemo alone?
She's a 27 year old asian female. The cancer has metastatic to her intestines, possibly further, but not sure.

She's currently experiencing a small intestine blockage that's making things worse. The chemo treatment is ECF - With F (5FU) given to her as an IV drip for 21 days. But since she was unable to eat anything from the blockage, her white blood cell counts were too low to continue.

Would love to here from someone with possibly a simular experience, what can I expect next?
should we move her to a different hospital that will be more aggresive?

Help please

Hi Dethsay:

I was diagnosed with Stomach cancer back in Oct. 2003. I had total stomach removed. My surgeon was very aggressive and removed all cancer that he could. Surgery looks like to be the first choice with this kind of cancers. I recommend you to call Dr. Armando Sardi's office at St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore. He is excellent. He has a method that if the patient is a good candidate he will do surgery and chemotherapy during the surgery. I had full chem treatment since then and currently I am cancer free. There are hopes and don't give up.

I am thinking about you and your wife. Take care.

What else did Dr. Sardi do for you?
Had you had a spreading to your abdominal cavity too?

I've spoken with Sardi on the phone...he seems nice and very bright.
