Subject: Efudex once a day?

My Doctor has prescribed Efudex for my nose to be applied at night only. He said not to use it during the day but to apply sunscreen instead. Looking over the posts on this board I didn't see anyone else who had been prescribed a dosage only once per day.

What do ya'll think?

I don't use efudex anymore but when I did it was once a day at night for 2 weeks. I now use aldara cream and I like it MUCH better. It doesn't hurt.

Perhaps your doctor has you applying only at night because you will be in some sun during the day. Do you work outside? Or does your lifestyle have you outdoors each day? This would explain the sunscreen at day, and medicine at night. When using the medicine you are sometimes very sensitive to the sun. Just a thought.

I used Carac once a day for 2 weeks. I go back to the Dr. on 10/23. My nose/face is still red, peeling and scabby. I think if once a week at night works for you then you are doing the right thing.

Good luck.
