I would appreciate a gentleman who has been diagnosed with stage ll bladder cancer to share his experience. I would like to know if he decided to undergo radical cystectomy or some other choice and with what results. My father is so opposed to having his bladder removed and because of his age (73) the doctor is not offering a neobladder but rather a bag on the outside. He has expressed to me that he would look like a freak! I am very concerned and the research I have done leads me to believe that the radical cystectomy is the best choice for long term survival prognosis.
