I was diagnosed in July of '04 with Stage IV colon cancer with mets to the liver on my birthday.  The great medical personel in my area said that their was no hope.  That I could die at any moment but that I had 18 months tops to live.

I did a lot of research, went to a top cancer hospital, I have had no evidence of disease since September of '04.

I suggest do your research, go to a top cancer hospital, ask a lot of questions.

Good luck.

My cousin had T-Cell Lymphona.  I think it was non-hodgkins.  He was older and his oncologist said he got it from exposure to Agent Orange in Viet Nam.  He was misdiagnosed as having Lupus initially and spent several months getting treatment for Lupus before getting correctly diagnosed at Mayo Clinic.  I hope your oncologist says there is effective treatment for it.  If not, ask about clinical trials.  Let me suggest that you do a search on clinical trials and see if you find anything.  Also, you might check the National Cancer Institute's Web site.  I have been told that their treatment is free if you are accepted into one of their trials.  Good luck and God bless you both.

Of course you are in shock and panic....those are normal reactions for the family members.  I am not familiar with the center you mentioned, however, I do know they are doing great things with lymphoma at MD Anderson in Houston, TX if you decide to seek a second opinion

Sorry for what you are going through. Md. Anderson in texas is known as the best hopsital for non-hod lymphoma in the world. They saved my brothers life when they said he only had four months to live. (10yrs ago). Also i went to the nih in washington my self and they paid for the air line tickets and cab to hospital. Dr. Wyndam wilson runs the lymphoma clinic trails. Pretty amazing group of people. I wish you the best with everything-- just keep on keeping on. Never give up. Take care jason.
