Almita

Mom has nsclc stage iv.  has anyone had experience with Almita?  Is it IV chemo or is it a pill?  My mom tried Tarceva, but they said it wasn't working for her.  She was scanned after 55 days of it and the doc said it was not working.  Now they want her to have traditional chemo with Vit B12 injections.  Not sure what to do.

I also have stage iv nsclc.  On my second round of chemo therapy, i received avastin and alimta via infusions every three weeks; along with the b12 shots  every 6 weeks. After four treatments i had a pet scan. It showed spots on my spine, although the tumors on my lung did not grow.  I had no ill effects from the alimta, but it did nothing to stop the spots on my spine.  I believe it works differently on everyone.  As the side effects were at a minimal ( i had some constipation from the alimta) i think it's worth a try.
