I will be starting chemo again on tuesday, this time gemzar. Has anyone had an experience like this? Do I have any chance this will buy me more time? charli
Hi Charli -
I was dx'd in April '04 with stage IV OVCA. Did 6 rounds of Carbo & taxol relapsed 1 year after finishing with that. Iwas on Gemzar for 10 months and it kept the disease stable (no growth, no shrinkage). Then started to progress and now I am on Hycamtin. for me the Gemzar was a piece of cake. Some side effects, but really not too bad. Mostly fatigue. Gemzar bought me almost a year and now the Hycamtin is working the same way, so hang in there!!!!! I also have lymph node involvement. Numerous in the abdomen, pelvis, diaphram, and neck. I have to say that most days I really feel good. Except for the fatigue.
Good luck to you,
