Subject: Skin is leaving fast
Date: 10/11/2007

My mother has lung cancer that spread to the lymph system.

She has, since May, had red, flaky skin that looks like the end of the worst sunburn you might imagine.  It comes in cycles -- sometimes she flakes and sometimes she burns and glows red.  Sometimes it's both.  But it's constant tormentia.

Doctors said that a chemo treatments should help this, but so far, the first session has made no dent.

Does anyone have any experience with this?  What can you tell me, other than chemo and creams (unless you've got one we haven't tried), that will help make my mother's life tolerable?

Please respond if you have ANY information.

Thank you for your time.

Arlen

Has your mother been referred to a dermatologist? I had some skin/scalp problems and a visit to a dermatologist was very helpful.

No, I don't believe she has.  She's been to the surgeon, the oncologist, and a few alternative healers...

What regimen did you follow to alleviate your skin issues?
