Hello,
My brother was diagnosed with renal cell cancer 3 years ago.
he's had a nephrectomy and radiotherapy x 2.
he has mets in his lungs, lymph nodes, the other kidney, liver and shoulder.
he now has a tumour above his eye and is going for his 3rd blast of radiotherapy.
he has been on interferon which initially worked, but is now having no effect. his Dr has put him on a progesteron based oral drug which i cant remember the name of ( it previously was the drug of choice for renal cancer),but has said he now needs sutent. unfortunately it is not curently available in Scotland where he lives.
his Dr is writing to SMP's and NICE to campaign for the drug but as yet we have not heard.
how do we go about making a fuss and noise to get this essential drug made more readily available.cost implications aside,if it prolongs life then surely that is of more importance.
love and God Bless to everyone,
Moonie
