My mother in-law is taking Femera for breast cancer that has metastasized to bone. She is having severe nausea, does anyone have suggestions on things she can do to relieve this? Have you heard of Femera coming in another form other than oral i.e. patch?

I have heard many people take a product called Ambrotose from Mannatech for all cancer treatment related side effects. Everyone I've talked to said it changed their life. It may be worth looking into. Marlene

Your MIL could ask about arimidex. IT's basically the same type of medication. Most likely it has a different base and that may make a difference. She should tell her Dr. about feeling sick. There are other aromatase inhibitors. aromasin also is one. Compared to each other arimidex and letrozole have about the same rate of effectiveness. hope this helps. Susan been on arimidex for two years now

Help With Femara

Nicole, I suggest that you find a holistic doctor who can prescribe a non-toxic medicine that will accomplish the same goal as Femara but with less side effect. I was fortunate to find one and he gave me medicine to help with my metabolic imbalance. It does the same thing as Femara but without the weird side effects. I do have hip and pelvic pain, but that's due to side effects from the steroids and chemo that I received as treatment. However, by taking the holistic medicine, the pain is not as intense and I don't have nausea, dizziness, swelling or other side effects I've read that others have experienced on Femara. Good luck. That seems like very dangerous advice to give. I would not give up the life saving protetion of Femera without the advice of a physician.
