I have recently discovered a pea-sized, round lump in my neck. It is about 2" above the collarbone in line with my left ear lobe. I felt another slightly larger lump about an inch higher. This was about a week ago. They are not painful and I recently had a bad cold virus/cough thing that lasted a good 2 weeks - in fact I still have some residual congestion.
The only reason I discovered this was because a friend of mine fighting lung cancer discovered lumps above her collarbone and I just started poking around myself and needless to say I got a little panicked when I felt this. They have not grown since I first felt them, they seem 'slippery' - like they kind of move a little but I"m not really sure.
Obviously I will see my doctor to have it checked out, but just wanted to put this out there to see how concerned I should be. The logical side of me says they are swollen from my recent illness, but given what my friend is experiencing, I can't help but be a little nervous.
Thanks in advance!
