My was diagnosed w/ OVarian Cancer 3.5 years ago and responded well to treatment. She is having a reoccurance. She is very freaked out and is not sure she will live.

Anyone have a good exp surviving a reoccurrance. She was very luckily stage 1 and has been in good health for 3 years.

Thanks,

Amy

So sorry to read your sister is dealing with this again. How was her recurrence discovered? Do you know the type of Stage 1? I am holding you in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for your response. I left out the work Mom~but it's my Mom, not sister.

She has EOC, Stage 1. Her Chemo starts in 2 weeks.

Amy -

I was dx'd 3.5 years ago with stage IV OVCA. I had a reoccurance 1 year out of treatment. I have been in and out of treatment ever since. I feel fine and treatments seem to be doing something good. Tell your mother that recurrance is part of this ugly disease and to try to look at this as a chronic disease, not a fatal one. She was stage I - this is a wonderful thing. If she goes into treatment - she will probably have another remission.  Good luck to you both.

Hi again Amy, good thoughts to your MOM. How old is she? How did her dr find the recurrence? Like Diane mentioned, ovca is often treated as a chronic disease.

She is 58. She has checkups every 6 months. Her CA125 was elevated and when the CT scan came back she had some nodules. Her CA125 also went from 167 to 202 in those two weeks.
