Hi all

Happy Monday

week 2!! was on Chemo bag all last week and I think I did well, however White blood cell did drop today, but still good enough to have my Radation treatments continue this week - Yeah

My protocal is Wayne State

6 weeks of Rad with Week 1 - Chemo bag and then back on Chemo bag on week 5, taking Rad treatments the entre 6 week time

has anyone gone thur this wih no mention of surgery

my turmor is very low in the rectum ( I can actually see and feel it ) and I have only 1 Node involved- I feel extremely blessed, but looking to ensure I have doing everything right and getting the best treatments available

Should also say I LOVE my doc's they are truly blessing from God, I just keep reading Surgery and so far none of my doc have said needed.

God Bless

Diana

What type of tumor do you have?  Is it rectal adenocarcinoma or possibly squamous cell anal cancer?  Very different tumors with different treatment plans, etc.

I only ask because I do not know of any rectal cancer NOT being treated with surgery-even with the least invasive, like transanal excision, like I was.  It also surprises me that you would not have surgery (if in fact rectal adenocarcinoma with even one node involved).

Please let us know what type you have.

Probably a SCCa of the Anus, almost by definition if she can see it.

With Chemo Rads the cure rate is very good without resection and salvage of recurrence is good with APR.
