You would qualify for any of the Standard therapies.  Surgery, External Radiation or implant.  I usually recommend the IMRT because it has the lowest rate of long term side effects, you can work during the treatments and it is non invasive.  If the tumor does come back locally you can retreat with an implant or have the surgery.  So you get a couple of chances maybe.  Local recurrences are harder to salvage post surgery and particularly implants because of the normal tissue response.

Targeted or even focal cryo can be a realistic option also.

It is FDA approved, can be repeated, is capable of treating outside the capsule.

It is becoming more common (though not the norm) to treat only one side of the prostate. In order to do this though, you will need to undergo a 3D mapping biopsy.

Well know practitioners include Dr.'s Onik, Katz, and  Barqawi.

For info on the current state of cryosurgery try searching on

"Oncura and Joule-Thomson" and "Endocare and Joule-Thomson"

I can only give you my 7 month results from early March 2007 in Munich, last PSA two weeks ago at <0.05 or undetectable. When diagnosed I had PSA 14.2 and Gleason 7 (3+4).
