Hi,

I had a new biopsy in Sept 07 and all is clear. My PSA has doubled since March. And I had a scan that is ok. For the last few months I have been having hot flashs and feeling very hot. havenot had any hormone shots since late 2005.

wondering if anyone else has had this and what it means??

Hi!

I don't have prostate cancer, but my daddy does.  He has been coping since 2000.  He used to get the worst hot flashes, I beleive it just comes with the territory of your entire body trying to fight off the cancer cells, so your body climate is pretty unstable. I dont think it is anything abnormal.  My daddy just relaxes and takes deep breathes, tries to calm down and stand in front of a fan when he gets the flashes.  I beleive he also takes some hormones to stabalize his body temperature.

 Hope maybe I helped.

 God bless, and best regards,

Kacey

I'm a very young man with prostate cancer and have hot  flashes often.

I found the best way to relive the hot flashes is to put an ice bag on your head.  This will cool down your whole body.  I sleep with one on my head.  Ask your Doctor there is medacation also that helps with hot flashes.

It was hot flashes coupled with chills that sent me to the doc...psa was 8.7 and biopsy affirmed pc.  My doc said it might be that the body is trying to alternately fight the cancer with heat and cold responses.  But it was the hot flashes that persuaded me to see the doc.
