What To Ask- Now Dad Has Kidney Help/Info??

Hello all,

I just buried my dear friend of lung & now this:

I just found out tonight that my father has kidney cancer- 2 tumors on 1 kidney, on outside but near bloodvessels. My parents live far from me & dad is 85, mom is 84...They will get the family "talk" on Monday with the onc's/surg. He is scheduled for surg on nov 8th.

CAN ANYONE HELP WITH GOOD QUESTIONS TO ASK THE DOCS?

I know it's so important to ask the right questions & they have no idea as to where to start. And neither do I...Yikes.

#1 most important thing is that he sees a KIDNEY CANCER SPECIALIST.  Not a regular oncologist.  They are not enough up to date on new treatments.  #2 partial or complete nephrectomy.  #3 will he need treatment after kidney removal.
