I am a 31 year old patient who was just diagnosed with CML today(10.25.07) and just want a patients P.O.V. on what is in store for me. All I have been told so far is that this is the form to get if you're unlucky enough to get one, but that is a doctor's words I want to hear it from patients because the messages I have read so far from everyone is that they are in constant pain. Please let me know

Hi:  When you are first told you have Leukemia, its a scary thing.  Nobody wants to hear that.  I do not know what kind of advice your doctor gave you. I have not been in constant pain.  It depends on what stage your at, and what your treatment plan is.  If you would like to share what your plan of treatment is going to be, then I might be able to give you more information. Write Again with more details.   God Bless You

My husband is 42 and was diagnosed with CML over three years ago. He has been on Gleevec 400mg. since day one and is doing great. He works everyday and lives a normal life. Sometimes he gets worn out and the occasional ache, but pretty much is fine. He has been in remission for the past two years and only recently his numbers have come up very slightly. His doctor is not concerned right now. There is a great article on Gleevec in this issue of Cancer Compass. Hope you are doing well. Please feel free to ask any questions.
