Whipple Procedure

my husband had his whipple done at the iu med center in indianapolis indiana. the surgeon dr. keith lillemoe was originally from john hopkins out east and is highly qualified. you may be able to find other facilities by going online. pancan.org is another website that i am familiar with . sincerely jimandkathy

I had my whipple done at Mt Sinai in NY.  Sloan Kettering is 1 of the best, also.  I have 2 friends who had Whipples done at Aventura Hospital in Florida (I never would have thought that) and Mt. Sinai in Miami.

There is a doctor at Jefferson Hospital in  Philadelphia by the name of Dr. Yoi. He comes from John Hopkins and that is all  that he does.... whipples. Had I only known prior to my mother's horrific experience with a surgeon that should not have performed this surgery. Dr. Yoi is an expert and is a genious especially when complications arise in the OR. My mother died last Thursday and we buried her this past Monday. She suffered brain injury during her surgery. The doctor tried to remove the tumor when there was vein involvement.. he cut the vein and she lost 7 units of blood. We had her in 8 facilities since July 11th. Every doctor said that it was the saddest case they've ever seen. Yeh it was because my sister and I dealt with it EVERY day by her side until the very end. That doctor took away my Best friend. Don't let this happen to you. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!  Please go see Dr. Yoi in Philadelphia and call tomorrow. This is a very fast and aggressive cancer.
