New Lesion In Remaining Kidney

Hi

I was dx with stage 3B RCC 1 year ago. 6 months ago small 2 nodules were found in my lungs, this week a CAT scan showed no change in the lung nodules but a 1cm lesion in my remaining kidney. I am planning to go back for a cat scan in 6 months but wonder if there is a way to see if these nodules or new lesion are metastatic disease. I have not recieved any ts except the nephectomy to date. Has anyone had similar encounters??  Does it matter that I wait 6 month to see if it grows???

If your doctor deems it okay to be waiting the six months then there is lots that you can do to get your immune system back to an optimum level in that time and your whole system generally back into balance. The sooner the better as this will enable your own killer cells to fight the disease as nature intended. The worst thing you could do would be to just sit back doing all the things you have been doing that may have put your body into a weakened state that allowed the cancer to take over. One of the first things that I did personally was to change my diet and add in the supplements that testing showed my body was deficient in. I did post the Regimen (diet etc.) that I follow on this board. It posted rather bunched up and hard to follow but if it appears to be something that you would be interested in knowing more about please feel free to send me a private message. I also had RCC stage 2 of the right kidney in April 06. My CT's have been clear until I had a lung scan 3 weeks ago, they were looking for a blood clot, and found 3 small noduels (two on the left lung and one on the right). I also was told I have emphasima. I went to a lung specialist and he did not seemed worried about the noduels and wants a repeat CT in 6 months. I am freaking out about waiting 6 months. What does your doctor say about the noduels in lung and spot on Kidney??

I certainly wouldn't wait 6 months.  You might want to see your oncologist.  Tell him your concerns and tell him you would like this checked into sooner than six months.  Hope all goes well for you.

Did you ask the Dr. why you are waiting 6 mos.? my tumor 10 yrs. ago was LESS THAN 2.cm and I told the Doctor I did not want to wait, I wanted it OUT.. they just want to be absolutely positive it is renal cell, ask him what the percentage is that it is NOT cancer??!!  when I posed this question to my oncologist, he said I cannot say it is not cancer. 98% says it is.

Tell him you would RATHER NOT WAIT and need to know your options NOW. don't let them intimidate you, your the one that has to live with this disease.. By the way, I just got an ultrasound back the other day telling me that there may be another cyst In left kidney now. I dread going through all this again. I had a partial nephrectomy of my right kidney 10 yrs. ago.. the cancer was isolated (why wait?)

Please don't wait and get a 2nd and even a 3rd opinion, I did.. we only have this one chance to do it right you know? waiting is a dangerous game. If it is 100% positive for Cancer, have it taken care of, in the end, the oncologists will do what YOU want. Deb

I just sent this reply above, forgot to tell you, they wanted me to wait 6 months also, I thought they were nuts. Why give it more time to grow? I had a partial nephrectomy(rt.)  11 years ago, may have another cyst now in the left kidney, but I will deal with it the same way. God Bless and keep you well. Deb
