has anyone taken the drug Temsirolimus,,, we have been taking sutent and can no longer take it because of side effects so this drug has been recommended.. We are wondering what side effects and if it is effective. Our diagnosis is without any drugs only about 4 to 6 months and maybe 8 with this drug.. Can you help me out..

hi my name is sue I am caregiver for my herioc husband who has been fighting recurring RCC since 2003--he hastaken sutent and tryed Nexavar another drug for RCC and is back to the sutent wehich has worked wonderfully but has weakened his heart--we will know in 3 weeks whether he can still take it-if not the drug you mentioned is also called torisel which will be the next drug he will try--we found a great group of RCC fighters and surviors on line --a lady called Mary Trent puts it together and sends out a newletter each night--each have taken all these drugs --I think there are 3 people on torisel in the group and their are people from a few other countries respoding to this --it has helped us greatly and you can ask questions of who better than the ones on these drugs that have so many side effects but give us hope that we can survive and alot are starting to--her email address is --Message edited by CancerCompass staff.
