THANKFUL

I just found this site accidently and have found it so helpful.  I had a TTH and cancer in 2 lymph nodes on Sept. 27th.  Started on Cytomel  Oct. 1st. Stopped taking it on Nov. 1st and Started LID.  Not the greatest but I can do it for awhile.  Having the Radioiodine Capsule on Nov. 13th and The Liquid on Nov. 14th with Nuc Scans whole body.  Then I will return for a Nuc Scan on the 21st.  I get tired but it's not that bad yet.  Fourth day of no meds and LID. Voice a little hoarse at times.  Beautiful incision.   Here's hoping that the Good Lord will continue to watch over me and remove any leftover Cancer.   I had breast cancer 1/13/97 and they have found 2 nodules on my lung so I'm going to have them take a good look at them when they do the Nuc Scan.  I'm suppose to have a repeat CT in January. Oncologist doesn't think it's Cancer.  So--thanks for the input and I wish all of you luck with your Cancer and your treatments.  My prayers are with you all.----Sharon

I just read your blog and how to write as I saw you were recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer but had breast cancer ten years ago.  I was diagnosed with BC 4 years ago and thyroid cancer this past June.  Had surgery 7/31 and RAI 9/11/07.  I have come across several woman who have had BC & thyroid cancer.  It makes you wonder if there is some sort of connection!  You should do well with the thyroid. 

Congratulations!!!!  For the first time, I am sitting on the PittyPotty.  I received my I-131 radioactive iodine on Wednesday after reviewing my Nuc Scan and only found a sm amt of thyroid in thyroid area and one place in neck, possibly a lymph node.  By Thursday Morning, I have had severe nausea, severe abd. pain.  My glands in my neck are swollen and I have the same metallic taste in my mouth that I had with the Chemo, but one hundred times worse.  I eat because I want to be able to eat something decent now,  but it tastes funny and I'm sick to my stomach and it makes my stomach hurt worse.  I'm trying and succeeding drinking because I have to, but I never dreamt it would be such a nightmare.  I called the Dr. early and he called me in some Phenergan but it's not helped much.  Can't sleep much because of the taste in my mouth and the fullness I feel in my stomach.  I chew gum and suck on Lemon Drops but doesn't help much.  I have always remained smiling and positive thru all my cancers, but this one  treatment is really getting my down.  I pray now to the Good Lord to help me deal with this.  If you have any ideas or anything that you experienced, let me know.  Again--Congrats for beating the Cancer.
