Subject: On Sutent, 4th cycle; Anyone experience ascites?
Date: 11/08/2007

My name is Tom. I just registered my wife, Eileen on this site. Hopefully, she will introduce herself to the group soon.

She is 54 yrs. old; rt. nephrectomy in May '07 with metastasis in lungs. She's now on her 4th cycle of Sutent, and over the past few weeks has had ascites fluid build up in her abdominal cavity, requiring the fluid be drained off. She goes in this afternoon for her 4th periscentisis(sp?). procedure.

Has anyone else in the group had a problem with ascites while on this drug?

Her recent C.T. scan showed the lung involvement greatly improved. Nothing showing up in lungs on latest C.T., so the drug appears to be working for now.

My husband is only on his 1st cycle and he has only had fatique and upset stomach so far. I am so glad to hear that your wife is responding to Sutent even though she is having some problems.
