My husband was given 4-6 months, Metastatic Melanaoma, Stage IV, in Oct 06 and is still here today. Unfortunately, his cancer is still spreading after radiation, gamma ray knife (in brain) and plenty of chemotherapy.
I find my husband gets tired a great deal more, appetite has gone down tremendously, side effects from whatever treatments must be dealt with and I do try to watch his mood. It is quite challenging for him and he does have his bad days. His color has changed and seems greyish purple.
I encourage him to freely talk about it and keeping the lines of communication open, planning things for the person to look forward to and of course - a fabulous sense of humor always comes in handy.
