Hi There -
I'm so sorry about your reoccurance. My mom was diagnosed stage 4 in March 2006. She has never been in remission, and is on her 4th different chemo regiment. This is not what we had hoped for when she was first diagnosed - obviously we hoped for remission, and that she would have a good response to the first round of chemo etc. However, the good news is that her cancer remains under control, there are alot of other different chemos to try if one stops working or doesn't work at all,and she has tolerated most chemos well. This seems to be the case with alot of women affected with this terrible disease. I think there is always hope. My hope for my mom (and others with OC) is that she can remain stable until they can find that "new treatment" that will finally put her in remission. I wish you the best, and don't ever give up hope.

I am Stage IV also and am on my 3rd type of chemo. I was diagnosed in April of 04. YOu have to look at this as a chronic disease. I don't know if it can be cured, but it CAN be controlled. I go on one chemo until the cancer starts to spread, then stabilize it with another drug. Not easy, but not too bad either with all of the things they have to fight side effects. I feel OK and go on vacations, go to dinners, shows etc. Try to keep a positive attitude. I really believe that it plays a major role in your survival.

Thank you, I was having a bad moment. I just saw my oncologist and he seems hopeful.
