My 17 year old daughter was diagnosed November 2006 with Hodgkin's lymphoma. She has completed 4 rounds of BEACOP and 15 days of radiation. She is now 7 months out from all treatment and she is still having a hard time with fatigue.
My question is, when she was diagnosed they said that her tonsils lit up on the PET scan and they thought that they may be involved. The did not biopsy them and took the wait and see attitude. Another thing is that the cancer had already spread to her shoulder blade and the Onc told us that this was very unusual. She was staged at IVa as she had only some fatigue and a cough. She still has a 4 cm mass in her left thymus that has not been biopsied. Last PET showed 2.5 uptake, they think scar tissue. Could she have NH B cell lymphoma? The Reed-Strernber (sp?) was present in the biopsy that she had done for diagnosis. I am just really worried about her. Her Oncologist told us that it was a fast growing cancer as she had only had it for maybe 2 1/2 months before diagnosis. Hodgkin's is generally not a fast growing cancer.
Any replies would be greatly appreciated.
