Adnexal Mass

Hi, I had a virtual colonoscopy done last week. the dr. wants me to do one again this week because of movements artifacts. However he did send me the results of the first one. Under findings, he states that I have a 6x3cm left adnexal mass. I have not spoken to my primary dr. yet but am told to follow this up with him. A copy of the report has been sent to him as well.

I had a hysterectomy about 8 years ago because of a severely prolapsed uterus...but they left the ovaries. Will thye want to take the ovaries now? I have a prolapsed rectum now. I am 43 yet I feel like I am falling and I can't get up:)

He/She then is best equipped to offer you follow-up with chemo, etc. Good luck. Get involved with your health care. It is your life! I keep thinking back and there are so many symptoms that I have had that I did not link to possibly ovarian cancer. I was thinking colon cancer as my mom has it.

I have four kids ranging from ages 17 to 4. Two of them are autistic. They keep me so busy that the thought of being sick just does not seem permitable...know what I mean?

The dr called and said that it is a complex cyst and that if it was his wife, he would recommend surgery to remove both ovaries. He also said that I have a 6ml colon polyp so I guess I have to have the optical colonoscopy as well. to those of you that have had this, how long does the surgery lay you up and when can you drive afterwards? I am the mother taxi here and my kids will be lost if I am unable to drive them non-stop to all their activities, lol. I have a 4 yr old, 12 yr old, 15 and 17 yr old, two of who are autistic.

I hope you are feeling better today.  Positive thinking is the key :)  though it is pretty difficult sometimes.

I just wanted to ask you about that virtual colonoscopy - what was it like?  What preparations did you have to make?
